CITROEN MODELS REVIEW
Citroen needed to work hard to attract them - and has made the C5 into a handsome family car. The pronounced creases and bonnet ridges are especially effective. It鈥檚 a little angle-sensitive, though, while strong body colours and large-diameter alloys are needed to disguise its sheer size. The French model is longer than a Ford Mondeo, and almost as wide. Exclusive, with the engine range majoring on HDi diesels - 1.6-litre, 2.0-litre, 2.2-litre and 2.7-litre V6 versions are available. Petrol buyers have only the old-fashioned 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre petrol units to choose from, but in time these will be replaced. Rivals include the Mazda 6, Ford Mondeo, Renault Laguna and Volkswagen Passat, in what is a tightly-fought sector mainly populated by fleet users. The interior is quirky, with an individual and interesting design, but the promise of German build quality hasn鈥檛 quite materialised. We like the fixed-hub steering wheel and well-shaped seats, but all the cubbies are too small, and the materials don鈥檛 seem any more tactile or easy on they eye than those in the C4 hatch. Passenger space is also limited, with less legroom than a Ford Mondeo, plus tight head and shoulder room.
I grew up with Range Rovers starting with the classic. My parents have had every model sold in the US. When I say "Range Rover" I mean Range Rover, not Range Rover Sport, not Range Rover Evoque, not Range Rover Velar. Here are my thoughts on them. They are not safe in an accident and can roll BUT they a fun to drive, not powerful, but comfortable. The view out is the best of all Range Rovers. The early 90s County LWBs were really nice, my mom had a navy blue one with tan leather interior. Height adjustable air suspension (expensive to repair), crappy Buick 4.2 liter V8 and 4 speed automatic. If they were safe I would own one. I love this one too but, they were a nightmare for everyone I know who owned one. My fathers caught fire while he was driving it among other issue. These look great, still utilitarian outside but luxurious inside. Really thick steering wheel.
As a break from Land Rovers I've returned back to my Showa models and started on the Arii 1/32 Honda T360 little truck. This a lovely little model which can benefit from some extra detailing. I will be opening the door windows and detailing the cab, and will also replace the rear canvas cover over the body. The Arii roof is rather featureless and lacking in detail. To remedy this I have made a frame from brass wire and will add the canopy (once the rest is painted) from good quality tissue, cut to shape and soaked in a water/PVA glue mix. As it dries the tissue will shrink to emphasise the frame, will be hard and have a good texture. I can then add the tie downs from waxed thread, replacing the lashing hooks with bent wire. So here is the model with my brass wire hoops added. I haven't been able to find a photo of the tilt removed exposing the hoops. The size of these Kei vehicles never ceases to amaze me. I've also decided to finish this as a hard working little truck which has been roughly treated, so I will be adding the odd dent, some rust and fading paint. It won't be as bad as my VW Beetle, but won't be in showroom condition either.
Maximum GCWR 16,000 lbs. Exterior Cargo Volume 75.5 cu. The 2010 GMC Terrain is all-new for 2010. It is the twin to the Chevrolet Equinox. It is a 5-seat crossover that comes in front- or all-wheel drive with either a 4-cylinder or V-6. With front-wheel drive and the 4-cylinder, highway gas mileage is expected to be 30 mpg. Trim levels include the base SLE and SLT. The crossover Terrain features a four-wheel-independent suspension and car-based frame. This improves ride comfort and fuel efficiency over off-road capabilities and towing. The crossover has oversized fenders and bumper cladding which the Chevy Equinox does not. The windshield is the only common exterior part. A backup camera is standard, and a power liftgate is optional. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard with the four-cylinder engine and 18-inch alloys on the V-6 models with 19-inch wheels as an option. An upward-tilted panel houses the air-conditioning and stereo controls. The dashboard features angular styling and two-tone plastics. Standard equipment includes keyless entry, power height adjustment for the driver's seat, and a 6-speaker stereo with a USB port for MP3 players.
