2019 Land Rover LR2

2019 Land Rover LR2

The i6 is equipped with twin overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder with cam profile switching (CPS) and variable valve timing (VVT). The combination of the two mix high power with low end flexibility and maximum efficiency. The i6 also has a variable length inlet tract which adapts to optimise both high end power and low end torque. These technologies combine to deliver 80 percent of maximum torque across the entire useable rev range and 189 lb.-ft. 1400rpm and 6400rpm. The engine uses Intelligent Power System Management (IPSM) for 聭smart charging of the battery. The i6 engine was originally developed with Land Rover applications in mind and is designed to resist dust, mud and water intrusion as well as operation at acute tilt angles. The exterior of the LR2 gets a new look for 2011 with a new front bumper assembly incorporating new front fog lamp bezels. Theres a new front grille in Bright Finish.

8,900 below that of the Evoque, it鈥檒l cost you less too. You might want to look beyond the class as well. The Range Rover Velar is a luxury midsize SUV with many of the Evoque鈥檚 strengths, but it adds roomier rear seats, a larger cargo hold, a higher max towing capacity, and better fuel economy estimates. Should I Buy a New or Used Land Rover Range Rover Evoque? Land Rover redesigned the Evoque for the 2020 model year, adding more standard features - including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the Terrain Response 2 system - a new mild-hybrid powertrain option, and slightly more rear-seat space. For 2020, Land Rover also introduced some new available features, including ClearSight Ground View, which projects a virtual image of what鈥檚 beneath the front of the vehicle through the touch screen. You could likely save money with a used model, but you鈥檇 miss out on the new Evoque鈥檚 substantial updates.

This past Friday Jackson and Dad left for the Ozarks to participate in our church鈥檚 fourth annual father and son canoe trip. A local travel agent puts this together. Well over a hundred fathers & sons headed down to Windermere, a faith based retreat and resort grounds about 10 miles north of Camdenton, Missouri. We went tent-in-tow and created what was for many, including Jackson, a first camping experience on the Windermere grounds. The canoeing took place on the Little Niagua River, which had a launch point near Camdenton, MO. After a feverish departure from Kansas City we choked in a near late arrival. We got there in time for tent set up and a quick trip to the cafeteria for dinner. After our unpacking we headed off to the pool. Windermere is truly a beautiful place and we were blessed to be able to stay there. The pool was no exception. Jackson loved it because he was safe to explore the majority of the pool without a life jacket.

The LR2 has many design cues from its successful parents Range Rover and LR3. The front facia of the LR2 is very distinctive though. The front grill is surrounded by what could have been push bumpers if the LR2 was not meant to remain in captive city life. From the side view of the LR2 you get the impression of a sporty SUV. The side sills really add a nice touch to the sport design. Land Rover went as far as to put new titanium finished door handles, similar to the very high end Range Rover. The door handles are large and bulky, but it goes really well with the design theme of the exterior of the car. Land Rover offers the LR2 with superb 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, as a standard. At the rear, you will quickly notice the rear spoiler. It is almost oversized for an SUV but it flows well with the LR2 design that flirts with the crossover concept. The sporty theme of the LR2 is enhanced by dual chrome tipped exhaust pipes. Overall, the exterior maintains the Land Rover rugged style while getting closer to the sporty BMW X3 and the luxurious Lexus RX.

The new Defender鈥檚 look still has a lot in common with its predecessor鈥檚, though. Not only is the body - especially at the sides and rear - as straight as ever, but the classic, vertical-tailgate-mounted spare wheel makes a comeback. So too do the old Defender鈥檚 solid, square-shaped wheel arches, as well as wheels that are pushed right to the edges of the body. This limits any overhang and means that the Defender can climb or descend harsh and uneven terrain as easily as possible. Another carryover is the two small 鈥榓lpine鈥?windows directly above the rear passengers鈥?heads. The doors, although not as minimalist as the old car鈥檚, still look rather simply designed, meaning that the new Defender will retain a lot of its rugged, old-school charm. The paint has been covered in a durable satin wrap, specifically designed to endure extreme conditions. This means it will take a LOT of effort for you to give your Defender some permanent scars while you鈥檙e out in the wilderness.
