Inside the car, the appearance of the interior readily marks the Cooper Coupe as a MINI product. The large centrally mounted round instrument pod contains the speedometer, fuel level, coolant temperature, and other pertinent readouts. I have a 2016 Mazda 6 with 44k miles 6spd. Clean title and still under powertrain warranty. I was driving home last week from work and I hear a metal chatter noise. Very similar to a knock. Having owned an E46 M3 many years ago I've gone through rod knock on that car so I'm familiar with the sound. The first thing that came to mind was pull over, so I did. I get the car towed to Mazda the next morning. 160. Service advisor confirms warranty still active, no problem. Later that afternoon I get a call from the service advisor stating the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Actually a few things he said after confirming it was rod knock. STP oil filter was put on. According to the advisor the STP filters or non-mazda OEM can cause this issue. His solution: Buy a new motor or pay them 8hrs of labor to drop the oil pan and open up the engine to see if there is any signs of negligence. If there are no signs of negligence they MIGHT be able to warranty it. I refused the 8hrs and I am not giving up that easy. I've taken my car to the same mechanic (3rd party) since I bought it and have done every service on time with invoices to show for it. What's my next step?

Its leaf suspension flexed as it kept pace with a new Jeep Rubicon mounted on 35鈥?mud terrain tyres as we traced fire Trails around NSW Central tablelands Abercrombie River National Park. Gazetted in 1994, this park protects the largest intact patch of open forest in the area and offered us an exciting weekend away traveling the steep fire trails and exploring the various campsites.
