Murray & Candace's Adventures

Murray & Candace's Adventures

This past Saturday a small group of us headed out to one of the most significant historical sites in Sierra Leone: Bunce Island. This is the location of an old 18th-Century British slave castle, perched on a strategic wooded island at the limit of navigation for ships sailing up the river. It was here that ocean-going slave ships met the traders from the hinterland to collect their cargo of men, women and children. Although a crumbling ruin now, many parts of the castle are still visible and as we clambered out of our canoe and onto the island, I could really feel the dark history of the past. We were given a tour and as we walked in amongst the ruins it was easy to picture how this place looked some 250 years ago. I could see the soldiers standing next to the cannon on the battlements, in readiness to prevent any attack from the sea. I could see many African men and women being marched into the castle, never to taste freedom again. I could hear the cries as families were torn apart - separated into male and female sections of the fortress.

The DC100 concept paved the way of the future for the next-generation Defender, and now after about eight years of waiting, Land Rover is introducing its completely new off-roader. More than just a single model, the Defender family will include the usual short-wheelbase three-door 90 and long-wheelbase five-door 110 body styles, plus a yet-to-be-confirmed 130 longer version and potentially a pickup truck as well. 2 seating layouts depending on variant. With six trim levels, several gasoline and diesel engines, and a whopping 170 individual accessories - there should be an ideal Defender specification for everyone. The interior is also a major departure from the old-school Defender as it鈥檚 now loaded with tech, such as a 12.3-inch fully digital driver鈥檚 display joined by a 10-inch touchscreen for the infotainment. The base versions get only six audio speakers, but the more you鈥檙e willing to pay, the more sophisticated the sound system becomes, with up to 14 speakers, 700 watts of power, and a subwoofer provided by Meridian. 50,925. Go crazy with the configurator and you can hit six figures. Only the 110 will be available upon launch, but the 90 will arrive shortly at some point next year for those who need a more compact off-roader.

There are two schools of thought when it comes to an extended warranty for your Land Rover. Some Land Rover owners simply would not own a Land Rover without it being under some form of and extended warranty or service contract. Many other owners choose to 鈥渟elf-warranty鈥?their Land Rovers and accept the risk of potential out-of-pocket repair costs. Below is a list of warranty providers that list Land Rover vehicles on their online quote forms. If you are rejected by any of these warranty providers based solely on the fact that you own a Land Rover, please contact us and we will remove their listing. We cannot specifically recommend or vouch for any of the following companies. Your Local Land Rover Retailer - Most (if not all) Land Rover dealers have partnerships with extended warranty providers and should be able to provide quotes for several levels of coverage based on your needs and circumstances. As with all extended warranty providers, vehicle age and mileage limits will apply.

Thank you so much for your response. It means a lot that you took the time to respond. Alright. Ginseng and Magnesium Malate! Good to know. I will definitely have to try these. Getting outside has always helped, and I have no idea why I don't do it more often. Thank you for bringing that up! I'll try to get outside as often as I can, especially with the snow we are receiving now, I'll get out skiing as much as I can. I stopped volunteering a bit ago, but it really seemed to help. I will try to start that up again, too. Protecting myself from those who put stress on me is the hard one, though. All of my friends, and my partner included, have told me that they are emotionally abusive, but I feel like I owe them something. I've been trying not to let them get to me, my motivation is to prove them wrong at this point. Thank you so very much for those suggestions. They are very good ones, and I will need to try to use them to keep somewhat "sane". Haha. Blessed be, friend.

I take my Discovery to Land Rover Redwood City for service and I am always treated well. Recently, I took my car to a smog station for certification and the guy broke my key off in the ignition. Thankfully I noticed before I pulled off the lot or I am sure that I would have been stuck with the repair bill. The smog guy claimed that he had no idea that it happened but he would pay for the repair. I took the car to the Land Rover Redwood City and they were willing to remove the broken part of the key and then replace the key. 300. Not cheap I know, but owning any High Line car is not cheap when it comes to repairs or service. The dealership took quite along time before he said that they did not have the tools to remove the key. However they gave the smog guy the choice of paying to replace the ignition or getting a locksmith out to the dealership to have one last try. If you want it done right you may want to bring it to a dealer.
