Six-speed Manual Or Six-speed Automatic

Six-speed Manual Or Six-speed Automatic

Porsche engineers Roland Kussmaul and Owen Hayes were instrumental in the RS Spyder's success as well. The RS Spyder not only conquered its class, but was also one of the first 鈥榮mall prototypes鈥?to take the fight to the bigger and more powerful LMP1 cars in the American Le Mans Series. And much of its success came at the height of the series鈥?factory prototype involvement, with Audi and Acura also in the battle for top prototype honors. As the legacy of the venerable Audi R8 was coming to a close, the story of the Porsche RS Spyder was just beginning. Unveiled in early 2005, the German manufacturer鈥檚 re-entry into the prototype ranks proved to be no second-class effort, despite building the car to the second-tier LMP2 specification. With full works support and famed American entrant Penske Racing running the operation Stateside, there was no shortage of talent from the driver or personnel side.

Our route up was M23 - M25 - M11 - A1 - A1M all the way to Yorkshire (via Boston Lincolnshire). As per usual there was traffic works on the M25, and the M11 was closed due to a lorry turning over, arse. So the 3.5 hour trip to Boston Lincs became 5.5 hours. With a further 3 hours to go to our overnight destination. Anyway kiddy dropped off, quick comfort break and we went onto stay at the Days Inn at Wetherby that night. This is a new hotel; it was a comfortable crash overnight till the next day in the morning we grabbed two large coffee鈥檚 and Panini鈥檚 from Costa. Then the remaining 90 minute trip to Garsdale. I filled up just before leaving and when we got close and calculated 31mpg for the trip to a petrol station approx. 20 miles short of Garsdale. One hour later and we arrived at the campsite.

Would have been nice to have a precise starting point location for the whole brake line project. Here you can see that it fits, but only just. Two or three inches more would have made a big difference, in both accuracy and comfort. As it is the pipe will easily end up laying again the flanges of the cross member, which could promote friction and perhaps leakage or breakage at some future point. To help prevent this, a protective anti-chafe plastic tubing will be placed over the pipe as it goes across the cross member. The pipe looks a little wavey as it passes under, because it has to clip to the cross member in three places, while curving over the flange to get to the clip (clip not installed yet, here). In this view, the pipe from the rear brake flex tube to the 5-way connector. Here, the pipe was too long, by any standard, if you were going for the original routing.

Engine refinement could be better, as owners note some noise entering the cabin. Running costs are another area that drivers marked down. A closer look at the figures revealed many are happy about economy, insurance and tax, but servicing costs hold the XF back. Despite the high share of reported faults, feedback on reliability is very good - suggesting that many of these problems aren鈥檛 major breakdowns, but rather smaller issues. Practicality is well rated and rear legroom inside is praised by owners. Better child features would have helped, though. Has it ever gone wrong? Nearly a third of XF owners have reported problems, with electrical glitches common. 鈥淭he ride is second to none. 鈥淵ou just don鈥檛 want to get out. Key points: Spacious Superb impresses with its comfort and safety. Skoda鈥檚 Mk2 Superb offered tremendous value when new. It scores on space, reliability and affordability, and all those characteristics continue to impress on the used market. In fact, owners rate it best in the survey for practicality and comfort, thanks to lots of clever interior storage options and a large 595-litre boot.
