Windshield Replacement Cost
The cost of replacing a windshield depends on more factors than you can shake a stick at. Let鈥檚 jump into them right away. First, it depends on the make and model of the vehicle, of course. Two actual properties of the windshield determines its cost: the size and the technological complexity. Size is easy to understand - other things being equal, you will pay much less to replace a Ford Aspire windshield than for a Land Rover because you鈥檙e buying (much) less glass. Complexity of a windshield plays a big part. The later and the more sophisticated the vehicle鈥檚 model, the more technologically advanced the windshield, resulting in higher cost. Technological complexity includes windshield curvature and built-in attachments such as those for rain, heat and light sensors, integrated mirror attachment, antenna mouldings, heated glass, hydrophobic coating, and more. These accessories and refinements increase a windshield鈥檚 cost. In general, you will pay less to replace older and simpler cars鈥?windshields. Next, even your location will play a part in how much you will pay. It鈥檚 not only groceries that are priced differently depending on area!
Feisty, funky, spunky, and sprightly, the 2015 MINI Cooper Coupe is indeed one of a kind. Nothing else looks like it, goes like it, or even approaches its sheer audacity. In essence, a two-seat version of the previous generation MINI Cooper Hardtop, the Cooper Coupe tries to bridge the ground between sports car and hot hatch. While we鈥檙e reluctant to categorize the MINI Cooper Coupe as a full-fledged sports car, the model does benefit tremendously from the inherent agility, quick steering, and peppy engines characteristic of all MINI models. Further, the two-seat configuration actually creates more room for cargo in the boot of the smallest MINI. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of 2011, there has been but one generation of the sporty little auto. By all appearances, this will be the only one, as MINI has announced production of the model and its convertible sibling (the MINI Cooper Roadster) will cease at the end of the 2015 model year.
The General has been talking about replacing their interior farragoes for years, yet the Sierra clearly doesn't know disco is dead. It's a riot of cheap plastic and ugly, sharp-edged switchgear. I haven't seen a dot matrix display with so few pixels since my first digital watch. Again, I'm happy to admit that the Sierra represents a huge improvement from pickups of yore (except for the buckboard ride). Twenty years ago, who'd a thunk a standard-issue pickup truck would boast 300 horses, dual-zone climate control, satellite radio, cruise control, ABS brakes, airbags and suicide doors? Who'd a thunk it would cost 40 large? That said, with GM's fire-sale discounts and finance, you can probably own a Sierra 1500 for a couple hundred bucks a month. So it's still something of a working class hero. Be that as it may, there's no getting around the fact that the GMC Sierra is a long way behind its competition in terms of refinement and ergonomics. Once upon a time, that didn't matter. Now, engine nirvana or not, it does. You gotta love a truck division started by a guy named Max Grabowski.
In addition to the sedan and the coupe that was revealed at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, a four-door hatchback will arrive for the first time in the U.S. Si models. Look for the insane Civic Type R to arrive in the U.S. Among hatchbacks in the compact class, the Kia Forte5 offers the most cargo space and passenger volume, giving it a cabin that rivals larger cars. Style isn鈥檛 sacrificed in the name of practicality because the Forte5 remains one of the best-looking compact hatchbacks on sale today. Should you be looking for more oomph, the Forte5 SX comes standard with a 201-hp 1.6-liter turbo-four that makes it one of the quickest cars in its class. You鈥檒l also enjoy using Kia鈥檚 UVO infotainment system since it鈥檚 one of the easiest on the market to master. While these cars didn鈥檛 make the cut for one reason or another, they deserve an honorable mention because they offer plenty of cargo space and practicality in packages that are compact and easy to live with. One of the newest entries into the compact car segment, the Scion iM is a rebadged version of the European- and Japanese-market Toyota Auris.
