THE Range Rover Experts
Land Rover Range Rover models are unique in that they share mechanical and electrical components with a wide range of other makes and models of vehicles. This makes the vehicles quite unique and also more complicated at the same time. This frequently leaves Land Rover Dealers and Land Rover Independent specialist alike out of their depth. For Example the P38 Range Rover was one of the most advanced vehicles ever produced by any vehicle manufacturer, even 20 years later other manufacturers are only now adding features that were standard on the P38 Range Rover. This sharing of technology and unique components and systems leaves most Land Rover specialists behind as they are used to dealing with "normal" Land Rover models which don't really have much in common with the Range Rover range. This is where we come in, we have the skills, expertise and experience to carry out tasks, diagnostics, repairs and upgrades that other workshops are quite simply unable to carry out. The owner of this business drives a unique P38 Range Rover as his daily transport so we really do know these vehicle inside-out.
The head office's customer service is hopeless. Land Rover is notorious for bad customer service but it is the first time I experienced it first hand. I made a call to the head office to file a formal complaint about my 2018 Range Rover Velar that had been in the shop for 4 times within 3 months. The parts have been on hold for 1.5 month and will take another month to come in. I was asking if there is option for a full refund because the car was less than a year old and its problems did not seem to be resolved. The customer service lady then asked me a rhetorical question "Do you expect to get a full refund from the dealer?!" I told her that there are laws in Canada to protect customers if the car has substantial defects. Then she said she was in the States and did not know the laws. Anyways, she was unhelpful and has just added fuel onto my fire. So I just exploded. I am not sure what kind of training these reps received. This experience is not disappointing, as we expected bad services, but perfectly validating!
Do you hate yourself? If you do - definitely buy a Range Rover. If you鈥檝e thought about ending your life but don鈥檛 want something so 鈥渇inal鈥?but definitely want to ensure tons of aggravation and frustration - by all means go buy a Land Rover product. Source: I drive (but don鈥檛 own - it鈥檚 a bit of a story) a 2017 Range Rover SV Autobiography - this car was 175K MSRP. I鈥檝e had it in for service so many times I鈥檓 on a first name basis with my service advisor. I even know his kids names and their activities and his wife. It鈥檚 his anniversary this weekend. Want to know how I know their anniversary? I dropped that shit off at the dealership THIS AFTERNOON. Today鈥檚 problem: Driving at night and the dashboard and nav screen lights randomly dim, the lights on the climate control panel go out completely. If you cycle the lights off and back on - they鈥檇 come on full brightness and then do it again. And then they stopped doing it. Bonus problem: My cellphone won鈥檛 connect to Bluetooth and when I shut the phone off - the phone module on the nav screen locks up and thinks my phone is still connected. Phone won鈥檛 connect - Bluetooth? More like brown stain; so technically we鈥檙e back for that again.
I鈥檒l keep going with the near-daily written output like I鈥檝e been. Once I鈥檓 comfortable with the podcast I鈥檒l try accepting interview requests again. This one was another frequent suggestion. I鈥檝e been turning down interview requests constantly because I鈥檝e found them so stressful due to the aforementioned issues, but I think maybe that鈥檚 behind me now. I鈥檒l probably try to bring Tim on with me too since he鈥檚 just as much a part of this whole project as I am, and I鈥檝e always felt like I鈥檓 only presenting half of my magic whenever I鈥檝e appeared alone. Might even start interviewing people myself on our new show, who knows. I want people translating my stuff into as many languages as possible. I鈥檓 going to keep tossing out reminders that anyone is free to re-publish any of my stuff whenever they want free of charge, and this includes translations into other languages. If you want to just translate and circulate my work and monetize it to pull in some money for yourself, by all means please do so. No need to ask.
A real prima-donna I've heard. Perhaps I'm thinking of the Discovery? Does that have low range? Sorry for being so uninformed. Like I said, LR2 just popped up on my radar yesterday. The freelander and now LR2/Freelander2 are the only models that don't. 4K more than I personally would like to see. You cant do anything about that though. But, will LR dealers accept a Ford X-plan PIN? Honestly the price is about 4,000 dollars higher then I thought it would be too but I thought they would offer a base model without leather interior or moonroofs. Even the stripper LR2 is going to have more equipment then most other vehicles in its class. Standard stuff off the top of my head that even the range rover does not have. Something interesting to note is that at least initialy the LR2 will only be offered in SE trim. That is strange because Land Rover has traditionaly had a SE and HSE trim level where the HSE is fully loaded.
