So yes, it was fairly reliable. Was it a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla it terms of long-term reliability? No, but neither was its main competitor the Jeep. However, it鈥檚 other competitor the Toyota Land Cruiser is arguably the most reliable of them all. RELATED: Jeep vs Land Rover: Which One is Better? Fast forwards in time and Land Rover is producing the Discovery I. You can literally watch any safari type of movie ever, and you鈥檒l probably see either a Defender or a Discovery I somewhere in the film. Much like the Defender, Land Rover built the Discovery I around the off-road lifestyle. It was tough, it was spacious, and it could go nearly anywhere. But, was it reliable? Just like Defender, it was pretty reliable, especially the diesel models. This is also around the time that Land Rover really start to shift their focus on creating luxurious vehicles.
Now everything works just fine and my Rover is a lot happier starting. It should be, because almost every component in the starter circuit is brand new! In other news, we're sneaking up on lambing season, and at least four sheep appear to be "showing". We aren't so very sure about how many lambs we'll get this year, because our new ram "Garfunkel" is such a baby still. He had five to breed, so if he managed four, we'll be well pleased. In the fall the ewes had to encourage him a great deal to get his job done. The lambs should come in about a month. Finally, our kid is doing well, growing like a weed and learning new words all the time. She loves to visit the barn and feed the sheep and chickens, which is good because we all have to spend a lot of time in there during lambing season.
Three hours inside the market which much have been a couple of acres in floor space, we needed a break and it was time to take the white friend to lunch. We ate in a very clean cafe; but not one you would have ever found on your own as it was deep within the market and hidden behind some stalls. Frequented by transvestites(even more unusual in Africa) and at that time full of them. Imagine being stared at by a bunch of (friendly)transvestites- as it was me- that was the unusual visitor! The world is a funny place! The cafe owner gave us a real slap up meal for the three of us based on a rice, spices veg and meat concoction all for 拢1.50 for the whole lot. It was yummy, but I was careful not to have drink of water there though. She was delighted as I had made her cafe an international one! Just as Derek does not do sympathy, he does not really do special dates very well, so it was up to me to make something of it.
