Old But Not Dead Yet

Old But Not Dead Yet

Here's one of the outriggers. Four of five are corroded, three badly. The worst part of the story is, however, the rear cross member, which is just a mess, although repairable. It looks as if a previous owner towed the trailer hitch right off at some point, and then jerry-rigged it back on using a bit of old electrical conduit as a bolt spacer. These poor old Rovers do take some stick if they fall in the wrong hands! By the later afternoon I was tired of the heavy work and so decided to run the compression test and get the engine tocking over a little more easily, more tinkering and puttering than sweating and grunting. With the engine cold, and (apparently) having not been run for more than a few minutes at any time in the last several years, the compression test scores were about 100-110 PSI on all cylinders, somewhat low but very even. I slopped some oil in one cylinder and nothing changed, indicating wear in the valves and valve seats rather than rings, or at least indicating that the greater balance of wear is in the valves.

Sub-Traditional Authority Govati of Mwanza does not remember the last time he saw a wild elephant in the district. Yet, every time he steps out of his house, another type of elephant awaits him: The white elephant! 鈥淲e have a lot of white elephants in Mwanza. From Thambani, which falls in my area, and other faraway places, we simply have so many of these. Politics seems to have perpetuated the trend,鈥?Govati says. Of course, he is referring to uncompleted projects, and not necessarily elephants with 鈥榳hite鈥?skin. The website adds that elephants are known as pachyderms, along with hippos and rhinos, a name derived from the Latin words for 鈥渢hick鈥?and 鈥渟kin鈥?(鈥榙erm鈥? to literally mean 鈥渢hick-skin鈥? To strengthen his case, Govati cites uncompleted houses marked for teachers and healthcare service delivery workers. 鈥淲e have a situation at Thambani (Trading Centre) where two houses meant for health workers have remained uncompleted for years.

Introducing Range Rover Evoque was a surprise move by this British automaker. Yes, it was a gamble, but the Brits knew which cards were in their hands. Back in 2012 when Evoque saw the light of the day for the first time, many believed that it would be a failure. Well, the car had that style and luxury that comes with Land Rover vehicles, but it severely lacked any off-road capabilities. But, they were proven wrong. This crossover attracted more customers than anyone was hoping for. It was even selling among people who weren鈥檛 accustomed to buying vehicles of this brand. With 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque they will be hoping to further increase the number of buyers. Looking back at its beginnings, it is hard to believe that Evoque was released six years ago. It still has the same freshness and elegance that secluded it from the rest of the similar vehicles.
