I finally finished reading Antonia Fraser's book Marie Antoinette: The Journey and now have a more complete understanding of Marie Antoinette herself. The book was utterly fascinating, if really super long. There are things in the movie that I didn't quite understand when I saw it last month and am looking forward to seeing it all over again with this new knowledge. Yesterday we saw photos of Victoria Beckham reunited with her hubby David Beckham and today we've got photos of Katie Holmes back with her paramour Tom Cruise. I'm sure Katie hates missing any sporting event that Tom's kids participate in. I'm sorry, I just can't get over how contrived this whole relationship seems. Everything they do seem so choreographed and manicured. Catholic tradition. And there have even been suggestions that the family Holmes is threatening a last-minute boycott of the wedding to try to convince Katie to have a proper Catholic ceremony, even if she does one Scientology-style, too.
A "flat" character does not make for good reading. It does not inspire the reader to feel anything, be it positive or negative. That will make us feel less involved and we won't care about the character's fate. There won't be the impact the author likely had in mind when he was writing. I think it is human nature to want the ending to a story to satisfy, one way or the other. Most of us like a happy ending, but a not so happy ending can be satisfying, so long as we know why things turned out that way. The ending of a story should be gripping. We should be wondering how everything will turn out, and we aren't happy when a story just fizzles, or takes a turn at the end that doesn't make any sense. An example of a great ending is the film The Sixth Sense.
From the off, the X7 is bigger overall compared to the Range Rover, which will make it more difficult to maneuver in tight parking spots or crowded city environments. That said, the long-wheelbase Range Rover is roughly the same size as the standard X7, which makes it a wash when comparing trims at the top of the line. Check out our table on the full exterior dimensions below. The SUV鈥檚 aesthetic carries the Bavarian鈥檚 latest design language, and includes a tall, upright fascia punctuated by the largest kidney grille ever designed for a BMW model. The grille is sandwiched by a pair slim headlight housings, which come with Adaptive LED lighting elements as standard. Buyers also also get the optional Laserlight upgrade with the Executive Package. It鈥檚 also worth mentioning that the overall drag coefficient was reduced to 0.34. While Land Rover has updated the front-end aesthetic over the years, the basic shape still remains recognizable as a Range Rover model.
