While Land Rover鈥檚 Range Rover is widely regarded as the progenitor of the luxury SUV, today there are numerous brands competing in the space including some with offerings much more luxurious than the Range Rover. It鈥檚 something that hasn鈥檛 gone unnoticed at Land Rover which has attempted to challenge newcomers such as the Bentley Bentayga with special versions of its Range Rover like the SVAutobiography. For future generations, though, we will see the SUV become more upscale. 鈥淚 think Range Rover has no way reached its ceiling in terms of price,鈥?Land Rover design boss Gerry McGovern told Automotive News (subscription required). The Discovery McGovern is talking about is the replacement for the LR4. Interestingly, McGovern suggested that Land Rover won鈥檛 go down the 3-row, 7-seat option with the Range Rover. He said the premium family hauler market is for vehicles like the Discovery and Range Rover Sport, the latter of which already offers a third row. McGovern has also previously ruled out an SUV positioned above the Range Rover to go head-to-head with vehicles like the aforementioned Bentayga and upcoming Rolls-Royce SUV. Land Rover still has plenty of time to finalize plans for a next-generation Range Rover as the vehicle isn鈥檛 due until towards the end of the decade. Before it arrives, Land Rover will introduce a subtle facelift for the current model.
Sorry Ian, I was away. I saw that on tv! And yet, another intruder dares to enter the palace. With the Queen in residence too ! Not seen that yet? I will have to watch on the news, lol! As usual 'kept her head' up as some body's scarf made a right Royal contact. Never been Ian, silly isn't it? Have a great time! What with Royal Ascot coming up. There is nothing like it. Hiya, I didn't realise that it was 'ones' birthday! Happy birthday to H.M. The Queen and many happy returns of the day. In Australia they have a public holiday on or near to the Queen's birthday. Many Aussies though are unaware of her natural birthday. I think she is amazing! AND She has another birthday coming soon ! Yes I saw that Ian. Wasn't it a lovely garden for her kids? I liked seeing them.
There it goes again, the two-tone horn, and it sounds closer to Battersby, near where the railway goes under a farm road. There's a cutting before the train rolls over the level crossing and westward into the station past the signal box. I've got my work cut out! Hopefully the waiting room will be open still. When I roll into the car park the train's just clack-clacking away east to Whitby over the junction with the line through Ayton from Middlesbrough. The sky still looks like lead, only now it's more blue-grey. It's only four in the afternoon and it looks almost like midnight! I can see the dim light in the signal box, Jim's striding between his levers, busy setting the points for the 'schools' train back from Whitby. By the time that gets here, in around another fifteen minutes' time, the line to the east will be shut down for the night.
